Board of Directors
The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is governed by its Board of Directors to supervise, control and direct the affairs of the SOA. The Board determines policies and changes to the SOA within the limits of the Bylaws, actively promotes its purpose and has discretion over the administration of the organization's assets. The Board follows a strategic plan that is updated every few years.
The Board is composed of the president and chair, the president-elect and vice-chair, the immediate past president and 15 other members elected by eligible SOA members and referred to as “elected members.”
