The Valuation Actuary (ValAct) Meetings position actuaries for success with in-depth content on the latest valuation and financial reporting concepts, including US GAAP, US Tax Account, and International Reporting Standards (IFRS). ValAct content is tailored for professionals specializing in valuation actuarial practices within the insurance and financial industries. These meetings will explore the latest valuation and financial reporting concepts, and provide engaging, interactive events for the valuation actuarial community.

The SOA provides a variety of registration options for guests of attendees. One guest per member registrant is allowed. A significant other, friend or family member of the attendee who is over the age of 18 is considered a guest (or non-business affiliate). Members of an actuarial organization and recruiters are not considered guests and must register at the appropriate member fee listed above. Guest fee does not include attendance at sessions or luncheons.

Location
The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile is located by both the Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) airport 15 miles from the hotel and the Chicago Midway International (MDW) airport 12 miles from the hotel. Estimated taxi fare is approximately $32 from Chicago O’Hare International (ORD) and $27 from Chicago Midway International (MDW).
Confirmations
Confirmation of your hotel reservation is issued by the hotel. If you have not received a confirmation number prior to your departure for Chicago, please call the hotel at 877-303-0104 to make sure your reservation has been received.
Early Departures
During check-in, all guests will need to verify their departure date. At that time, you may change your departure date without penalty. Any guest who departs before the confirmed departure date may be charged an early departure fee.
Cancellations
Reservations must be canceled 24 hours prior to arrival to avoid a one night’s room and tax charge.
