In Memory of William D. Bonneville
William “Bill” Bonneville, FSA 1975, MAAA 1976, died June 28, 2023 in New York. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary Lou (Manz); beloved daughters Melissa and Betsy, and son Michael (Beth); adored grandchildren James, Mary, and Francis; and cherished brother James (Barb) and sister Barbara (Daniel). He is predeceased by his father James, mother Gertrude, and sister Janice.
Bill was born in Minneapolis, MN October 27, 1947, and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1969.
Bill began his lifelong career at (then) Northwestern National Life Insurance Co as an intern on June 10, 1968. He started as a full time Actuary in June 1969.
In 1976 Bill was asked to take a three-year assignment in NY to head up the Product and Financial area of (then) North Atlantic Life Insurance Co. Soon he became Chief Actuary of that Company. The three-year assignment became his lifelong career in New York. Bill was the Executive Vice President and Administrative Officer.
In 1976 while in New York, Bill met and a few years later married Mary Lou. They had three children. Melissa and twins Elizabeth and Michael. Bill and Mary Lou were also blessed with three wonderful Grandchildren.
Once Bill retired in 2009, he remained active and was on many Boards in both his Community and Church.
Bill battled cancer for three years with the same bravery and courageousness he lived his life. Memorials in Bill’s name may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Memorial Sloan Kettering
