Invest in the Future of Healthcare
The Society of Actuaries (SOA) will host two events focused on the health industry in 2025—the in-person Health Meeting in Dallas on June 22-25, and the virtual Health Meeting on July 22-24.
These meetings bring together the industry’s leading actuaries, analysts and professionals to network, explore and discuss the impacts of the latest marketplace factors and trends. We strive to provide engaging, interactive events that meet the health actuarial community where they are.
Shape Content for the 2025 Health Meetings
Now is the time to get involved! We are seeking proposals for sessions that deliver relevant and educational content, from health care economics to technology to long-term care, research, and more. When submitting your proposal, you can choose to present at the in-person meeting, virtual meeting or both!
New for 2025, the committee is looking to create tracks of sessions throughout the program on some key topics. The following key topics have been identified to potentially create a track. Note: Submitting a proposal for any of these topics does not guarantee inclusion in the program. In addition, proposals submitted for a topic outside of these five tracks are welcome, and it doesn’t make it less likely for your proposal to be selected.

- Medicaid
- Medicare
- Pharmacy
Proposal Submission Criteria
Content
Sessions must be educational and informative. All practice levels are needed, but previous attendee feedback indicates a demand for more intermediate and advanced topic sessions. Please reference the list of session categories and skills-based learning topics the planning committee has prepared for the 2025 meetings as you plan your session proposal.
Delivery
As you prepare your proposal, you can choose to present at the in-person meeting, virtual meeting or both. Keep the content relevant and informative and consider how to deliver it in an engaging and dynamic way, noting that active audience participation enhances education. All sessions are limited to 60 minutes, including Q&A time.
The SOA is here to assist you with ideas to help you get started. A training session will be offered for session coordinators after sessions are selected.
Presenters
It is required to have presenters who represent diversity of thought, including new perspectives, distinctive processes and are from a variety of companies (minimum two). Sessions should not be considered a forum for any individual company or product. Submissions with diverse presenters will be prioritized during the review process. Recruiting presenters will begin immediately after sessions are approved.
Deadlines
Session proposals must be submitted by January 13, 2025, to be considered for the 2025 SOA Health Meetings. Please complete the submission form in its entirety.
Please note: Submitting a proposal does not guarantee selection as a session for the 2025 SOA Health Meetings. You will be notified the week of February 24, 2025 if your proposal has been accepted as is, or it may be combined with similar/related proposal(s). The planning committee reserves the right to decline any proposal if it is determined the topic is not a fit for the program. Proposals that promote an individual company or product will not be considered.
