In Memory of Harold G. Ingraham Jr.

Harold G. Ingraham Jr., 96, of Boca Raton passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his home.

Harold was born on July 16, 1927 in Menomonie, WI. He grew up in Dedham, MA. He was a graduate of Dedham High School and earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Harold became an FSA in 1959. He was senior vice-president and chief actuary for New England Mutual Life Insurance Company in the 70’s and 80’s. Later he practices as a consulting actuary for over 20 years and as an adjunct professor teaching actuarial courses at Florida Atlantic University.

Harold was a member of FSA, MAAA, MSPA, FCA, CLU, and EA. He also served on many SOA committees, most notably the SOA’s E&E Committee where he was Chairman in 1975 and 1976 and became President in 1986 and 1987. He also represented SOA and established actuarial education in China in 1987 and 1988.

Harold is survived by his wife Maurine S. Ingraham, 2 children Elizabeth A. Ingraham of Boston, MA and Suzanne G. Ingraham of Orleans, MA, 2 son-in-laws, Mark E. Dowell, MD (Caryn) of Casper, WY and David S. Dowell, MD (Athena) of Madison, WI, 5 grandchildren: Dean, Garrett, James, & Jonathan Dowell, and Tasman Ingraham-Forsythe, and his brother John W. Ingraham of New York, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
