Timing for candidates seeking to attain an ASA or CERA prior to July 1, 2018 transition
Candidates seeking to earn an ASA or CERA under the current requirements, must complete/pass all requirements prior to July 1, 2018 AND their name must appear on the June 2018 (or earlier) list of new ASAs or CERAs. This will require careful planning on the part of candidates.
The table below shows the dates by which each component must be completed/passed in time to be applied to the current requirements and earn an ASA or CERA prior to the July 2018 transition. The SOA will not make exceptions to the deadlines listed.

Note: Components completed/passed after the deadline dates below, but prior to July 1, 2018, will still earn transition credit for new components, even though they cannot be used to obtain an ASA or CERA under the current requirements.

*All paper applications and any required documentation or transcripts must be received at the SOA office by the dates listed above.
**Modules 1-5 and/or the Interim Assessment (IA) may be among the final components for some conversion and/or waiver candidates. However, in most cases Modules 1-8 and the IA are prerequisites of the Final Assessment (FA) and would need to be submitted prior to the FA.
