First SOA Signature Event of the Year – In the Books!

What an amazing experience it was! Over 1,300 attendees came together to reunite virtually and in Philadelphia, PA, celebrating a homecoming of the health actuarial community at the first SOA major meeting of the year. Peers collaborated to discuss solutions, engaged in interactive insightful sessions, expanded their professional network, and enjoyed each other’s company during entertaining events.

A Homecoming of the Health Actuarial Community

Members of the health actuarial community reconnected to collaborate on ideas, listen to industry leaders and have fun during social activities. Between sessions, attendees had the chance to refuel and reconnect with peers to discuss learning outcomes, industry trends and innovative solutions.

Moving the Profession Forward

Hot topic sessions tailored for members, panel discussions focused on the work local actuaries are doing to move the profession forward, and a riveting presentation on overcoming burnout from keynote speaker Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith were some of the highlights of the exciting and innovative learning opportunities available to attendees.

So Much Fun Was Had!

From game night, where a competitive game of Jenga was played by many, to celebrating the work championed to diversify the actuarial community, to the annual 5K Fun Run passing the exciting sites of Philadelphia, health actuaries had a great time interacting with each other, making new connections and sharing some laughs.

Helping the Local Community

The SOA in partnership with the Advocacy Committee of The Women’s Community Revitalization Project (WCRP) joined forces to assemble “mini garden” starter kits for the Grays Ferry Community. Attendees helped build over 200 mini garden starter kits for the Beautification of South Philly Peace Garden Project. Thank you to all who participated and donated to the cause.
