Message One
I'm seeking your support to serve again on the SOA Board. My first term was a journey of insight, growth, and impactful change. But our work still needs to be done; we must persistently evolve and strengthen our profession.
During my previous term on the SOA Board, I had the privilege of serving as the Chair of the International Committee, focusing on advising leadership on global concerns.
My top priorities are:
Deep Commitment to the SOA:
I aim to bring innovative solutions, initiatives, and partnerships that resonate with our mission.
Ample Job Opportunities for Actuaries:
I'm dedicated to ensuring our members have abundant opportunities to thrive. From networking to skill enhancement, I want every actuary to have a promising career path.
Expand the Reach and Impact:
I'm committed to growing our profession in numbers, influence, and reach. Together, we'll make our profession more recognized, valued, and impactful in the world of finance and risk. Our pilot project, which aimed at providing scholarships to students in need, saw an impressive 70% pass rate — a testament to its success.
A snapshot of my background:
- Co-founder of Valani Global.
- Leadership roles on three diverse boards.
- Honored with the Society of Actuaries President's Award in 2018.
If elected, I aim to establish a scholarship initiative for developing countries, ensuring they get a foothold with their first micro-credential. With experience on the 'Employers Council,' I've engaged with other employers to align the SOA's objectives with what companies genuinely seek.
Your support would be invaluable. I'm asking for your vote to continue our journey of growth and transformation. Let's chart the future of the SOA together.
Message Two
Please vote for me as 1 of the 5 Board Members:
My key accomplishments for being on the SOA Board for 3 years have been:
- Chair of International Committee – involved in advising leadership on international matters.
- Pilot project using funds and resources from the company I own – 20 scholarships to students who needed financial support, and tutor assistance, to write exam P and exam FM (passing rate was 70%, much higher than normal). A BIG success.
What I would like to accomplish in the next 3 years:
- Work with the SOA to create a scholarship program for developing counties to assist with the first mico-credential. This will hopefully get them their first job and then the Employers can pay for the rest of the exams.
- Work with Employers & Potential Employers to create more opportunities for Actuaries. I was on the “Employers Council” working with other Employers to make sure that the SOA is aware of what Employers need.
- Create more opportunities for more Actuaries so we can grow the profession while making sure that there plenty of good jobs for Actuaries.
