FSA Modules Transitions Update
March 24, 2023
As announced in May of 2022, reductions in exam hours have been made to the SOA’s Fellowship tracks. At the same time changes to some of the FSA track modules were announced. Please see the update below regarding the FSA module transitions.
Group and Health Track
The Pricing, Reserving, and Forecasting module is being discontinued and will no longer be available for purchase after June 30, 2023. The module will be replaced in the Group and Health track requirements by the Enterprise Risk Management module. Candidates who register for the Pricing, Reserving, and Forecasting module by June 30, 2023 may continue their work and complete it under the previously agreed upon terms and conditions. Extensions will be allowed. After January 1, 2023, either module can be used to fulfill the Group and Health track requirements.
Corporate Finance and ERM Track
New versions of the Introduction to CFE module and Advanced Topics in CFE module will be available May 1, 2023. The previous versions of the modules will no longer be sold as of that date. Candidates who register for either current version by April 30, 2023, may continue their work and complete it under the previously agreed upon terms and conditions. Extensions will be allowed. Either the old or revised versions of each module may be used to meet the FSA requirements for the Corporate Finance and ERM track.
General Insurance Track
Two modules are undergoing changes in the General Insurance track.
- The Financial Economics module is being revised and renamed, the Financial Economics, Regulation and Law module.
- The Applications of Statistical Techniques module is being revised and renamed, the General Insurance Applications module.
Both revised modules will be available for purchase on May 1, 2023. The previous versions of the modules will no longer be sold as of that date. Candidates who register for either current version by April 30, 2023, may continue their work and complete it under the previously agreed upon terms and conditions. Extensions will be allowed. Either the old or revised versions of each module may be used to meet the FSA requirements for the General Insurance track.
